This fascinating book documents an early conference envisioning the internet, including papers on "Broad Bandwidth Telecommunications Systems" and "World-wide Information Networks." Sponsored by the American Library Association and the U.S. Office of Education, Bureau of Libraries and Educational Technology, held at Airlie House, Warrenton, Virginia, September 28, 1970 - October 2, 1970. The epilogue consists of a poem entitled "Hiawatha's Network" written during the conference by a participant. The exterior of this copy shows minor wear and soiling. Inside, approximately one-third of the leaves are lightly stained in the lower fore-edge corner (margin only). There is also a small dark spot on the lower portion of page 28 and page 29.
