First edition. Bibliography of Andreas Osianders (1496--1552), the outspoken German reformer. Ordained a priest in 1520, he publicly joined the Lutheran party in 1522. His vehement and arrogant personality earned him a number of enemies. His involvement in the Reformation forced him to flee the city of his birth in 1548. He wrote a number of treatises on ecclesiastical matters throughout his career. This detailed bibliography of Protestant theological doctrines is well illustrated with reproductions of frontispieces and title pages of these printed works; some include woodcut illustrations.
