About 1,800 mini-biographies (usually less than a column) of prominent Argentinians, with biographical data, lists of positions and activities and, for writers, very brief bibliographies of works. With a list of changes and of persons deceased since the 1st edition (c1938). Boards covered with a kind of padded imitation leather cloth. Has red, oval stamp ("Embajada de la República Argentina") on the title page. Covers worn down to the fabric around edges (bumped) and along the hinges. The cloth is splitting along the top of the front cover, and has worn away up to the tail-band on the spine. Binding is starting to separate between pages 512 and 513 and at the last few pages. Covers soiled, stained, edges soiled and marked.
