The book was limited to 275 copies (Butcher B11). The prospectus is printed in black and blue on W. S. Hodgkinson white laid hand-made paper, with a line-block reproduction of a hand-drawn initial by Margaret Adams in maroon and a duotone collotype reproduction of a pencil drawing by Russell Flint.
From Butcher: "Commissioned by Sir William russell Flint who wished to use Cancelleresca Bastarda ast the text typeface. Stanbrook Abbey Press was one of the few printers in Britain possessing this face. Stanbrook made an exception to its general custom of not printing secular works in this case. The design of the book was negotiated page by page in a series of letters between the author and Dame Hildelith Cumming. Russell Flint's side of this correspondence is now deposited in the Victoria and Albert Museum."
