Limited to 15 numbered copies, of which this is the special portfolio unique copy designated I and has been signed by both Heyen and Marx on the colophon. Fine in fine clamshell box.

This special copy contains an original pencil drawing by the artist and a handwritten version of A Poetics of Hiroshima by Heyen, dated 2011.

A portfolio of loose sheets containing William Heyens poem illustrated with six etchings (one in color, five in b&w) by Robert E. Marx. Each of the etchings have been numbered and signed by Marx. The portfolio was printed on Rives BFK and Arches paper. The type is Centaur, Arighi and Goudy Old Style, hand set and printed on an R. Hoe & Co. hand press at The Black Bird Press, Rochester, New York.

Of the six etchings, five are in b&w and one is in color. Of the five b&w etchings, one is a duplicate.

"A Poetics of Hiroshima" previously appeared in Great River Review, The Seventh Quarry (Wales), and was featured in the book A POETICS OF HIROSHIMA & OTHER POEMS (Wilkesbarre, PA: Etruscan Press, 2010). It was reprinted in Pushcart Prize XXXIV (2010), whose poetry editors were Wesley McNair and Rosanna Warren. This edition was revised for The Black Bird Press edition by William Heyen.
