Order Nr. 142029

A catalogue of French printing types, 1478-1600, with specimens of all the types, introductory essays and an index. This second edition has been revised, corrected and updated, with the addition of several newly-identified types, and new evidence for the dating of some of those listed in the first edition (published in 2010 by the Bibliographical Society, Printing Historical Society and Oak Knoll). The bibliography has also been enlarged and updated. A total of 413 Roman, Italic, Greek, Hebrew and exotic types dated between 1478 and 1600 are described and illustrated with more than 500 specimens.

Illustration: Constantins Two-line Double Pica Roman [r280] or Gros-canon (1530), now attributed tentatively to Michel Du Boys.
