Privately printed in an edition of 100 numbered copies signed by Suzanne Moore, Robert Lyons, and Frank Faulkner. A fine copy in a fine clamshell box.
Designed and produced under the direction of David Bourbeau and published by the Trustees for the Estate of Robert Francis in honor of the poet's ninth decade. The calligraphy is by Suzanne Moore. The frontispiece portrait, photographed in 1980 by Robert Lyons, and the portrait following "Paradox," photographed in 1979 by Frank Faulkner, were hand-pulled from dust-grained photogravure plates made by Jon Goodman from the original negatives.
The typeface is Dante, designed by Giovanni Mardersteig in 1947 and here set in Monotype by Michael and Winifred Bixler. The paper is Fabriano Umbria. The text was printed at Wild Carrot Letterpress by Daniel Keleher. The edition was bound at Thistle Bindery in cover paper handmade at the University of Iowa Center for the Book.
