Ignatius of Loyola was a Spanish priest during the 15th-century, who is remembered for founding the Society of Jesus, or Jesuits. He composed various spiritual exercises and wrote simple meditations and prayers which contributed to the growth of Jesuit doctrine. Giuseppe Agnelli was a 17th-century Jesuit who was known for his study and expertise on Saint Ignatius. He composed a series of treatises on the spiritual exercises of Saint Ignatius. Agnelli focuses on theological election in these spiritual devotionals.
