Illustrated with facsimile pages from manuscripts and early books. Volume two contains an index., Vicente Salvá began preparing the catalog before his death in 1849. His son took over the project but died before the second volume was completed. The catalog was seen through to publication by Pedro Salvá's sons, G. and E. Salvá. The extensive collection (4,070 books are listed here) was acquired by Ricardo Heredia, conde de Benahavis. Heredia enlarged the collection to 8,304 lots, and it was sold at auction between 1891-94. An index to the Salvá and Heredia catalogs, compiled by G. Molina Navarro, was published in Madrid in 1913.
