Fourth edition, greatly enlarged and corrected; one of 250 large paper copies. (Windle A3d; Bigmore & Wyman I, 171; Jackson no.6, Besterman 1374; Disbound and Dispersed #1 for tipped-in leaf). Published with the same frontispiece as those in the second and third edition. Completely rewritten, this edition omits several sections provided in previous editions, while adding for the first time the information on the polyglot, Hebrew and Greek Bibles and the Greek and Latin Fathers. On page 166, Vol. I, there is an actual tipped in specimen leaf from Pickering's Diamond Edition of the Greek New Testament. Still a useful reference tool and difficult to find in the fourth edition. Describes approximitely 3,500 items, about 500 more than the previous edition. Spine labels rubbed.
