Include illustrations by Alfred Hutty (1877-1954), Troy Kinney (1871-1938), John Taylor Arms (1887-1953) and one anonymous. Edward Stern & Co. was established by brothers Edward, Harry F. and Simon in 1871 (Library Company of Philadelphia catalogue entry). Each card mentions the artist's name (when known) and the statement "SPECIMEN Reduced Size," with descriptive information. Notation at the bottom of each carde mentions the acquatone printing process.
