The plate are seven etchings and a drypoint. They include demonstrations of two etchings in two states and etching printed clean-wiped and with retroussage. Good descriptions of methods of working the design on the plate. Also auxiliary processes such as dry-point, re-biting, and re-etching. (Bridson and Wakefield B31). Bookplate - second prize awarded to Harry Wilkins, 1884; signature of J. B. Lee. Title page with embossed "Department of Science and Art. Reward" stamp. Crack starting between the frontispiece and the title page resulting in the first few pages being a little loose. Front gutter beginning to split at the heel of the spine. General wear.
