First edition. Pettit 129. The third and final part of Hardy's imaginative play that mixes the historical figures of the Napoleonic Wars with supernatural beings. Although Hardy considered the play to be his great work, it was not well-received by critics and the war scenes proved impossible to do on a stage. Worn, corners bumped, top board scuffed/dented.
