Edition limited to 250 numbered copies. Reprint of Harl's 1818 essay concerning freedom of the press. The book includes an introduction by Friedrich and Ernst Harl, proprietors of J. Ch. Zanker typefoundry in Nürnberg. J. Ch. Zanker produced the type used for the book based on an 18th-century Fraktur type from Peter Pätzmann. The covers of this copy have faded irregularly and show moderate wear at the edges. The boards are warped slightly. Several of the outermost leaves are lightly foxed, but otherwise the interior shows minimal wear or soiling. A loosely laid-in plate indicates that this copy came from the reference library and stock of H. P. Kraus.
