Privately printed for The Bibliophile Society in an unstated number of copies. Previously printed in Hoosier Lyrics, 1905, and My Book, 1905 (Blanck,p.136). Prefaced with a letter to the legendary book collector William K. Bixby (1857-1931) from the previous owner of the manuscript,, the original model of Penn-Yan Bill, who mentions that Field wrote the poem in a room at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Chicago, while waiting for him to finish writing a letter. Split along hinge.
