Printed by John Henry Nash on Van Gelder hand-made paper in an edition limited to 650 copies. Translated from the original 1831 pamphlet, and with an introduction by Herbert Ingram Priestly, Librarian of the Bancroft Library, University of Calilfornia, Berkeley. Head-piece illustrations by William F. Rauschnabel. This is one of four books of Californiana, prepared with the assistance of Priestley, and issued by Nash before he closed his San Francsico shop permanently in 1938.
