One of 75 copies, of which this is one of 26 lettered copies. A specially crafted window in the cover of this bleached vellum binding frames a wood engraving of a seal pup. This edition also includes a full suite of all the prints and a drawing laid in a chemise and placed with the book in a linen-silk tray-case. Eleven etchings by Alan James Robinson (of Cheloniidae Press). Foreword by Brian Davies. Text by Mark Philp Carol. Artist's Proofs, the complete suite of 11 etchings, by Alan James Robinson, each signed and lettered by the artist.

This is the story, in poetry and prose, of the harp seals. From the illustrator: "It is a result of a trip taken this past Spring to view the annual birthing of the Harp Seal Pups. This book heralds of a line of publications from the new ABCedary Letterpress. Carol's account takes as its subject the white-furred seal pups, whose exploitation has been the subject of recent controversy; the hunters, whose lives have involved seals for centuries; and the magnificent but hostile environment in which they interact." Robinson's two-color aquatint and dry point etchings are on sky blue Japanese Moriki paper. They are stunning and moving, showing mother and pup on ice and above and below water.
