Otto Clemen provides an introduction to this facsimile of Thomas Murner's satirical book. Profusely illustrated with woodcut borders and vignettes, this is one of the author's famous Counter Reformation writings. Murner was known for his anti-Lutheran tracts which featured the jester or fool, in emulation of Sebastian Brandt's Narrenschiff. This is number 2 in the Zwickauer Facsimiledrucke series. Bookbinder's ticket on first blank, foxing throughout.
