Oak Knoll

A catalogue for the exhibition held at the Lilly Library in 1992 which featured children's books published by William Darton and his sons, Samuel of Gracechurch Street and William and Thomas of Holborn Hill. A fine copy. It concentrates on the period from Darton's first published book in 1787 to the late 1830's when his sons retired from their respective businesses. Includes a historical calendar by Lawrence Darton and black and white and color illustrations. From the reference library of Philadelphia Rare Books & Manuscripts with their bookplate included.
