A guide as well as a history of Cheltenham and the county of Glocester. A wide range of Cheltenham topics are covered including: circulating libraries, billiard halls, backgammon rooms, the spa and its mineral waters, theater, coaches, and boarding houses. Glocester topics include: trade and manufactures (including descriptions of individual companies), the city and county jail, and local canals. Illustrated with two aquatint views by Spornberg (not in Abbey). Light foxing. Previous ownership inscription in ink on front free endpaper.
