Fifth edition. A kind of guide for the printers' and typesetters' "Meisterprüfung" -- i.e the test for the "master" grade. Questions or topics likely to come up in the exam appear in a narrow column on the left, with the answer or explanation on the right. In the second part, this format is often interrupted by selections of excerpts from applicable laws and regulations. The first part of the review, the "practical" portion, has sections for printers and typesetters. The much larger second,"theoretical" part, covers what one apparently needed to know in Germany in 1921 about the running of a shop: organization, laws and regulations pertaining to employees, accounting, copyright, job estimation, etc. Tipped in is a sheet for estimating overhead for typesetting and printing. Loosely laid-in are a) a table of prices for jobbing printing, b) a table of prices for typesetting (by general typeface and size!), c) an unsigned woodcut print (a New Year's wish dated 1923), and d) five sketches in pencil for an advertising design, signed by Stigall Wald, whose name is also on the front cover of the book.
