A specimen book of ornaments from the 15th century to the present, grouped by general type: individual ornaments, borders and cartouches, rows and border pieces, ornamental areas (backgrounds, wallpaper, etc.), and initials. First two sections are subdivided into one-piece items and items assembled from smaller pieces (e.g. "Granjon Arabesques"). Some reproductions are entire title pages.
