Volumes 1 and 2 of a three-volume work by Nielsen (cf. Besterman 1572, 4266 for the entire work) listing manuscript items by or related to Danish and Norwegian writers, mostly of the 19th through the early 20th centuries. Vols. 1 and 2 cover names from Aagaard to Hermann, and Hertz to Thoresen, or about 135 and 200 authors, respectively. Entries may be short or lengthy: N.F.S. Grundtvig has 27 pages! Longer entries have divisions (not well-delineated) by type of material (personalia, notebooks, works (by type), etc.) which are in turn subdivided by collection numbers consisting of a name--"New Royal Collection," "Collins Collection," etc.--plus a number referring to a specific folio or other unit within that collection, and a listing of the items under that collection number relevant to the specific author and material. Besterman gives 2,000 items. Unopened. Wrappers lighly soiled, chipped; covers a little loose at hinges.
