First edition. Lewis joined the Army Air Corp from his job with Du Pont. He flew in B-17s from England, His plane was shot down over France and rescued by the French Resistance. He was betrayed by a traitor and imprisoned by the Germans in Stalag 17. Sad story of the years in the German prison camp and final rescue by the American 3rd Army. Ended up his career at Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware, where he retired. Signed by both authors on front free endpaper and dated 6/21/85.
