Order Nr. 40349

Limited to 425 copies signed by Andrew Hoyem on the colophon page, with this copy being one of 25 copies signed by the author on the half-title page. A fine copy. With a lengthy introduction by Glenn Todd. Hoyem has commented on these wood-blocks and their striking appearance as "images of arresting moments from this dark drama in his woodcuts that appear on each page of the four narrations, giving a parallel visual interpretation throughout the book." The twenty-fourth Arion Press edition. The types are Frederic W. Goudy's Kennerley Bold, handset for the main texts, composed in Monotype for the introduction and subsidiary material, with Rudolf Koch's Neuland Inline for display. The paper is Rives heavyweight, a mouldmade sheet from France. Members of the Press include: Kevin Ahern, Mary Bisbee, G. B. Carson, Matthew Kelsey, Gerald Reddan, Glenn Todd, and Lawrence Van Velzer.
