Terry Belanger, noted author, bibliophile, scholar, and librarian, began Rare Book School at Columbia University (New York, NY) in 1972. In 1990, the program was transplanted to Charlottesville, VA at the University of Virginia's Alderman Library where it resides today under the direction of Michael Suarez.
