One of 120 copies, of which this is one of 85 copies (1-85) is printed on Somerset Book paper and bound in a printed vine-patterned paper over boards. Twenty-six years after their last publication, Anne Bromer has written a memoir of the eleven printed miniature books she produced with her husband and partner David from 1977 to 1989. She relates brief stories of pleasure, coincidence, and difficulty for each book, followed by a detailed bibliographic description. High-spots include their second printing of the Ashendene Press' miniature edition of Carmina Sapphica, two projects with Edward Gorey, and what Stanley Marcus called "one of the most perfect miniature books of the 20th century," Emily Dickenson's Poems of Life.
Descriptions of the three entirely calligraphic miniatures published by the Bromers are also included. The prospectus is included.
Jointly published by Heavenly Monkey, Rollin Milroy's printing studio in Vancouver, Canada, and Bromer Booksellers of Boston, Massachusetts. XI LXIVMOS is set in eight-point Centaur and Arrighi types, & printed with a very large handpress on dampened papers.
