An interesting discussion of early printer's guilds with descriptions of the life of a young printer from his early apprenticeship to his performance in the morality play, Depositio Cornuti Typographici, which signaled his acceptance to the ranks of the printer. Many fine illustrations of early printing scenes and reproductions of title pages of different editions of the printed version of the play. This copy has been recased with original spine laid down on new cloth and corners reinforced.
