Scholar Janette Sampimon notes that it was an early manuscript history of the Bulgarian people, written at a time when Bulgarian national consciousness was increasing (Cultural Nationalism in the Balkans during the nineteenth century, Free University of Amsterdam). Following the facsimile is a work by Bulgarian historian V. N. Zlatarski, published in Sofia, 1900.
