Comprises letters and documents (largely unpublished) from the Carl H. Pforzheimer Library, relating to Shelley, Godwin, Wollstonecraft, Peacock and others. Volume I begins with the earliest relevant manuscript and a testimonial to William Godwin on his graduation from his theological college in 1778. Volume II ends with the elopement of Shelley and Harriet Westbrook. Volumes III through VI (not present) continued the story of Shelley and his circle and looked at more secondary material. Each Volume includes a map of the Cities of London and Westminster printed on the endpapers, a frontispiece, an extensive list of manuscripts and essays, a large index, and numerous illustrations.
