Rss Feeds
You may have noticed the new icons in the Specialties menu
that is on every page here at OakKnoll.com These are part
of a new feature for us called RSS feeds, a simple way for
you to check the latest titles we have added!
So what is an RSS feed?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is
a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated
digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts. In
our case we use them to tell you about the lastest books in
each of our Specialty Categories. (More
information at Wikipedia)
How do I subscribe?
Subscription is free and easy. Make sure you are running the
latest version of IE
(Internet Explorer) or Firefox.
These browsers have RSS feed readers built into them. All
you do is click the orange icon next to the specialty. It
looks like this:
You will see a list of the latest books we've added in that
category with links to more information. If you'd like to
regularly and easily access this information, you will want
to subscribe. It's easy (no forms to complete) and it's free.
If you use Firefox, you will find your Feed subscriptions
in the toolbar of your browser. When you click to subscribe
to the feed you come to a page like this:

Hit the Subscribe Now button, and the Feed will
appear in your toolbar like above.
To view the feed, just click the icon in your
toolbar and a drop menu of the featured items will appear:

If you use IE (Internet Explorer), you will find your
Feed subscriptions under the My Favorites star
in the toolbar. When you click to subscribe to the feed you
come to a page like this:

Hit the Subscribe Now button, and the Feed will
appear in your My Favorites.
To view the feed, just click the star
in your toolbar and then click on the Feeds icon.

If you click on Oak Knoll - Delaware Books,
you will be taken to a page listing the 10 items featured
in Delaware Books.
Why use the feeds?
Everytime our website and inventory are updated, these feeds
will automatically update so you get to see what is new at
Oak Knoll. You never have to re-subscribe. It is a convenient
way for you to see the latest books we have available - usually
before they appear in a catalogue or advertisement.
We hope you find this new feature at OakKnoll.com
useful and you visit again soon!
