This issue of the Bulletin features an article by Guy de la Batut about the principle illuminated manuscripts of the Mazarin Library. It also contains a bibliography of publications (including sale catalogues) issued from 1929 through 1932 related to illuminated manuscripts. A separate envelope contains the 23 unbound black-and-white plates. The leaves of each copy that we have are unopened (one set is still bundled in an original paper band). The wrappers are a little soiled and the spine is damaged a little. The original printed envelope is soiled and the edges are tattered, but the plates are well preserved.

This is the catalogue of an exhibition at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris organized to mark the third centennial of cardinal Mazarin's death. It examines Mazarin's roles in the seventeenth century as a statesman and as a collector of books and of works of art. Includes 16 plates of black-and-white illustrations. This copy is worn and slightly soiled, and the spine is torn and damaged. A loosely laid-in bookplate indicates that this copy came from the reference library and stock of H.P. Kraus.

First edition. An annotated catalogue of the manuscripts included in the Biblioteca Palatina in Florence, the catalogue includes excerpts and entries on works of philosophy, religion and literature from the collection of manuscripts assembled by Ferdinand III of Lorrain. In 1861, the Biblioteca Palatina was merged with the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze, where the Palatino collection is now housed and which is one of the libraries most important antiquarian collections. Of special note is the section on Dante Alighieri which begins with an engraving of the author. Light foxing throughout. Bookplate on front pastedown indicates that this book came from the reference library and stock of H. P. Kraus. A commemorative booklabel which indicates that this set came from the reference library of H.P. Kraus and purchased by Oak Knoll Books at the auction sale is loosely inserted.
