See More... Knight, David SOURCES FOR THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE 1660-1914
The Sources of History: Studies in the Uses of Historical Evidence Ithaca Cornell University Press (1975) 8vo. cloth, dust jacket 224 pages
An introductory book to the sources for the history of science covering over two and a half centuries. Focusing on the physical sciences in Great Britain, the author surveys the material available, offering assessments of its uses and warning of its possible misuses. Technical and non-technical written sources, laboratory equipment, industrial apparatus, scale-models, and other evidence that has survived from the period between the rise of scientific societies in the seventeenth century to the beginning of WWI are examined. Mr. Knight argues that the sources for the history of science are as valuable as those for other branches of history in shedding light on the social, economic, and political history of a period or a nation. The imprint on the spine is upside-down, light rubbing on head and tail of spine, some damage to bottom and top edges, and dust jacket lightly soiled. With the pencil signature of Gavin Bridson, and his notation that the markings in the text are from the previous owner.

See More... Kotowski, Bob PIE IN THE SKY: THE AUTHORIZED HISTORY OF PUNKIN CHUNKIN'
The Cedar Tree Press 2008 8vo paperback 144 pages
Punkin Chunkin has been a part of Delaware for over twenty years now and it is likely to continue for many more autumns. Who would have thought that a challenge to see who could throw a pumpkin the farthest would grow to be one of the largest events in our state, drawing tens of thousands of people to acres of corn fields in normally quiet slower Delaware?

Author Bob Kotowski has tirelessly researched this amazing phenomenon and provides you with the most definitive chronicle of Chunkin. We begin with a history of war machines to the day the hat was thrown down in 1986 to the present. Through the early rudimentary, homemade devices to the cannons that resemble artillery pieces, we are led step by step towards the ultimate questto be the first being to hurl a gourd a mile. It makes the Grail seem unimportant!

Heavily illustrated with many heretofore unpublished photographs and illustrations, Kotowskis work clears the air of myths and misinformation that has grown over twenty-two years. The facts are now revealed. If you want to know how it really started, it is here.
