Written by Timothy Dwight ( 1752-1817).Noted in pencil (now mostly erased) on the title page. Dwight was the eighth president of Yale, as well as a Congregational minister, theologian, and author. George Canning was quite active in the British government, eventually becoming Prime Minister. There are no boards and very little spine material. No pages before the title page, which has a short closed tear in the upper edge. Two blanks at the rear. Signatures are solid. page 15/16 has been repaired with a little loss in the text.
