London Published by John Sharpe 1823 12mo. later green calf, cover panels formed of gilt rules and blind roll patterns, gilt roll pattern on turn-ins, four false raised bands with gilt panels, marbled endpapers and edges. xvi, 176 pages, with five additional leaves of plates.
Later edition of Sharpe's volume of the poetry of James Beattie (1735-1803), printed by the elder Whittingham. With a second, engraved title page, four engraved subtitle pages, and one additional plate, all engraved from designs by R. Westall and dated 1823. Plates somewhat foxed. Front cover and backing partly detached at front hinge. Rubbing on shoulders. Head and tail of backing worn down.
