This booklet is the first appearance in print of this early piece. Inscribed "W.H. Winterrowd, This first edition of R.L.S. with greetings from A.E.N." Loosely inserted is what appears to be a separately printed version of Edmund Gosse's review of this pamphlet that appeared in the London Times. This insert has age yellowed the facing blank page which contains the presentation.

Someone has written a note in pencil stating that the recipient is Dorothy Chimpan, librarian at the Clements.
