This catalogue, made to accompany the exhibition held at the Grolier Club from March 11 to May 2, 1998, expresses the voices of American women writers through their books. Illustrations by Gaylord Schanilec. New York The Grolier Club 2002 7.5 x 11.5 inches hardcover, slipcase 44 pages
In 1915, The Grolier Club published New York with color wood engravings by Rudolph Ruzicka. That book evoked the city in a period of rapid, remarkable change. In New York Revisited, Ken Auchincloss traces the evolution of New York in the twentieth century. Along with the city's enormous physical and social transformations, up to and including the events of September 11, 2001, Ken conveys the continuity of spirit and character of the "New York accent."

Two-and-a half years in the making, New York Revisited is illustrated by Gaylord Schanilec, the foremost contemporary artist in color wood engraving. The engravings include the Empire State building, Chrysler Building from Lexington Avenue, 230 Park Avenue, Grand Central subway station, White Horse Tavern, Times Square, the World Trade Center (vignette), and Strawberry Fields.

One of 250 signed and numbered copies, designed and printed by the artist at his press, Midnight Paper Sales.

Martin Bodmer was an honorary member of the Grolier Club from 1964 until his death in 1971. Over the years, he assembled one of the world's greatest libraries and set up a foundation to create a permanent institutional home for his collection. With more than 160,000 items including a Gutenberg Bible and drawings by Michelangelo and Leonardo, every item helped to illustrate the development of World Literature.

A Mirror of the World is a checklist which accompanied the exhibition devoted to Martin Bodmer. The introduction by Martin Bircher includes a brief biography of Bodmer and descriptions of the Gottfried Keller Prize, the literary journal Corona, and the Bibliotheca Bodmeriana. The exhibition is divided into categories including The Bible, Literature, History, Science, Music, and Travel. Various items from Bodmer's collection were chosen to represent these categories. Including illustrations, this catalogue further provides summaries of the German Catalogue and descriptions of epic poems, novels, fiction, classical drama, poetry, philosophy, natural sciences medicine, and geography. It concludes with ten English and American poems from poets including Walt Whitman, Jane Austen, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and James Joyce.

See More... BOOKS AND PRINTS, PAST AND FUTURE
New York The Grolier Club 1984 7 x 10 inches hardcover 146 pages
Books and Prints, Past and Future is a collection of papers delivered at the Grolier Club's centennial celebration in 1984. These speeches were given during the course of three seminars and the final dinner of the convocation. The first seminar, devoted to retrospective essays, kicked off with an essay by Mary Hyde, the first woman elected to membership at the Grolier Club. G. Thomas Tanselle was next to present an essay, and Robert C. Darnton was the third speaker. The second set of presentations was based off the understanding that the Grolier Club took its origin after a period of neglect. The last seminar contained speeches on the future prospects of the book, given by Robert Giroux, James Thorpe, and Benjamin Compaine. In all the speeches, there was a consistent effort to see present-day collecting in the frame provided by collections of the past. These sets of speeches were delivered by Andrew Robison, Walter Bareiss, Eberhard Kornfield, and Frank Stella. The final and closing essay was delivered by Daniel Bell who provided a schematic framework for the "information revolution."
