See More... (Bookbinding) PRINTED BOOKS INCLUDING THE LEIPZIG COLLECTION OF FINE BINDINGS AND AUDUBON'S BIRDS OF AMERICA.
New York Christie, Manson & Woods International 1977 large 8vo. stiff paper wrappers 211, (7) pages
Catalogue of an auction held at Christie's in November 1997. The Leipzig Exhibition in 1914 included examples of bookbinding by Robert Rivière and Son. It only ran for a few weeks before the outbreak of the Great War when the books were hidden in the cellars of the museum where they remained for five years. When they were finally located after the armistice and returned to the owner, it was with great joy that they were discovered to still be in pristine condition. Also included in this sale were works by Audubon, Shakespeare, Melville, Galsworthy, and others. With eleven color and twenty-five black-and-white plates. Acquisition date stamped on front cover.

New York Christie, Manson & Woods International 1994 4to. glossy paper-covered boards. 203+(1) pages.
An auction catalogue for the sale, by the Armand Hammer Museum of Art, of The Codex Hammer, the only manuscript by Leonardo Da Vinci in America. This catalogue contains a lengthy introduction by Carlo Pedretti, with a description of the contents, its history, and many other facts about the Codex itself, as well as a census of Leonardo's other manuscripts. Almost one hundred color plates, most full page, reproduce the pages of the Codex, with translations and comments. The original wrappers, and the volume and slipcase as they now appear are also shown in full color. Endpapers are reproductions of pages from the Codex.
