The following is attached at the spine as a package: A typed header with titles and publishing information stamped "Series Division, Sample File," an autograph letter on the leaderhead of David to the Librarian of Congress written October 5th, 1900 in which he replies that his magazine had stopped publication after only two issues, the two issues of the magazine each stamped with the Library of Congress, Serial Division. Volume 1 was issued on January 6, 1900 and contains a number of articles on Jean Gutenberg as the 5th centenary of his birth was occuring. Many of these serial examples were sold off by the Library of Congress when they disposed of their newspapers.
