See More... Greentree, Rosemary THE MIDDLE ENGLISH LYRIC AND SHORT POEM.
(Woodbridge) D.S. Brewer (2001) 8vo. cloth, paper cover label. 400 pages
First edition. The Middle English lyrics and short poems form a varied group that ranges over most aspects of life to include lyrics of religious and secular love, carols and songs, and mundane rhymes of everyday life. Thus there are expressions of devotion, ethereal or earthly, theological expositions, and knowledge needed for life. The poems are disparate and generally anonymous, and their survival owes much to chance. The bibliography assembles neutral annotation of collections and criticism of the works, arranged chronologically to show the course of criticism and the growing appreciation of these poems and all they can tell us. The introduction considers these matters, problems of definition of the genre, and the isolable lyrics, and seeks to reconcile some first impressions of the poems, as disparate and slight, with the rewards of close study.

Mansfield Centre Martino Publishing Co. n.d. but 2002 8vo. cloth. vi, (ii), 299+(1) pages.
Facsimile edition of a volume originally published in Paris in 1899 by the Librarie Dorbon. Not in Besterman. The son of a noble Italian family, Stanislas de Guaita was born in the castle of Alteville. His early studies developed his natural propensity toward the empirical sciences, and he reached a level of true mastery for his time. Over the years, however, his search to satisfy his artistic and literary spirit led him into metaphysics and the study of Cabala. He gathered in his house the largest private library of writings on metaphysical subjects, magic and hidden sciences that could be found in France in that century. This hard to find catalogue includes 2227 books on the occult along with a list of anonymous titles.

Clear prints of marks are provided, as are the title, author, date and city of publication, and size of book in which each mark appears, as well as citations to other scholarly resources. The index of printers' and publishers' names is comprehensive, guiding users of this work to both the main entry on a printer or publisher as well as to entries in which the name is mentioned, which makes this a useful book for researching the interactions between various printers.
