    N.P. n.p. 1855 single sheet
    A kind letter to a fan giving the ( apparently) requested autograph as the signature of the letter. The letter does not have Hosmer's address, but is headed Navel Office, Custom House, July 14th, ad 1855. Hosmer (1814-1877) was a popular poet in the mid-1800's with his most famous poem, Yonnondio; or, Warriors of the Genesee, being published in 1844. This is a long poem with quite a sympathetic treatment of the subject. He was also a lawyer in upstate New York.

Hurcomb as a successful London auctioneer, descriptions of historic sales, satisfied and unsatisfied customers, and legal challenges. The booklet ends with a list of patrons of Hurcomb's auction business. The prefatory letter is written by Hurcomb and dated March, 1928 and the remaining sections of the booklet are written by an unnamed editor. Back panel lightly soiled, front panel has ink blot in upper right corner that does not obscure text or picture.
