Text in Hebrew. The title is on the case. A micrographic reproduction of the Torah or the Pentateuch--the first five books of the Old Testament--reduced from a Sefer-Torah, rolled in a scroll format. The micrographic scroll is inserted in the original silk covered case, gilt-stamped with the symbol of the Decalogue. Case is worn at its edges. The periodical Christian Work: Illustrated Family Newspaper, v. 62, p. 84, July 15, 1897, noted, "Lately, there has been circulating in England a marvel of the micrographic art in the shape of a Sepher Torah so small it can be inserted in the waistcoat pocket. It is the work of a Jewish scribe, J. Sopher of Paris."
