Baudicour, Prosper De. PEINTRE-GRAVEUR FRANCAIS CONTINUE, OU CATALOGUE RAISONNE DES ESTAMPES GRAVÉES
2 volumes. Paris Bouchard-Huzard 1859, 1861 8vo. original paper wrappers. viii,312; viii,328,iv pages.
Catalogue of engravings by French painters born in the eighteenth century. Artists discussed include Joseph-Marie Vien, Jean Honoré Fragonard, Jean-Baptiste Greuze, and François Boucher. For each artist, there is a brief biographical sketch followed by a list of that artist's engravings, with a detailed description of the scenes depicted. The engravings listed are generally reproductions of the painters' own works; nineteenth-century collectors, especially in France, would have sought out these engravings in lieu of the paintings themselves as a way of gaining a better understanding of the artist's disegno (design or conception), which was considered more important than the execution. This catalogue, then, would have been a useful aid in forming such a collection. Wrappers creased, chipped, and worn, especially at spines. Vol.1 front wrapper torn and partially lacking. Corners bumped. Back wrapper of volume 2 detached. Some foxing in volume 2.

(Baum, L. Frank) Bienvenue, Paul R. and Robert E. Schmidt THE BOOK COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO L. FRANK BAUM AND OZ.
El Segundo, California March Hare Books 2009 square 8vo cloth, dust jacket 369 pages
First edition. The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum and Oz is a comprehensive yet userfriendly reference guide to the many books of L. Frank Baum (1856 - 1919). For the first time in a single volume, all of Baum's published full-length works (Oz, non-Oz, and pseudonymous books) are examined in detail and with unprecendented simplicity and clarity. Also included are the Oz books of his five "official" successors, plus other important related volumes, over 150 titles in toto!
