The first attempt at the study of the development of the newspaper with sections on the predecessors of the newspaper, early weekly and daily newspapers, journals, etc. This is the first book to be printed in "Monotype Bell." Jacket chipped with small pieces missing along the top of the spine and along the top edge of front cover.
