First edition (Honce 41). Riley Blackwood, a drama critic is asked by his friend, the hotel manager, to help him find the person who murdered one of his clients. Presentation "To Perry James - who heard most of it in manuscript, Vincent Starrett." Jacket chipped with small pieces missing at spine ends. Spotting along gutters. Very difficult to find in jacket and this copy is a presentation!
