They are the earliest documents relating to the diplomatic history of America. With a preface, an historical introduction, an examination of the papal bulls, and a discussion of international and maritime law and colonization. Latin text with English translations. 130 black-and-white plates of documents and registers and maps dispersed throughout. With a bibliographical list and a selected list of maps. Soiling to vellum. Cloth curled away from vellum slightly on front cover, corners bumped with minor wear to extremities.
