Dr. Randeria sponsored an annual bookbinding lecture for the Bibliographical Society named in honor of his brother, Homee Randeria. This is a typescript of the 1997 lecture by Potter with a handwritten note by her to Dr. Randeria enclosing this copy for him.

This second edition work focuses on important early American historical studies. The back board is detached and the hinges are cracked. Some staining and rubbing is visible on the cover. The corners have been bumped and chipped, resulting in loss of cloth on the head and tail of the spine. Foxing is present throughout, especially on the title page, endpapers, and paste-downs.
