Gives a history of the firm and reproduces correspondence between William Morris and Joseph Batchelor regarding production of paper. The second section of the book reprints a number of letters written by Nathan Guilford during a trip to Kentucky in the early part of the 19th century. The interesting series of letters provides real insight into life in the States. Loosely inserted is a dust jacket made up of paper that was not used for the cover with a piece of the paper folded and inserted in a pocket in the back of this jacket .
