LECTURES ON THE ART OF ENGRAVING, DELIVERED AT THE ROYAL ...
by Landseer, John

(Bridson & Wakeman B135) There is little concern for the technique of engraving, but rather highlights the discussions then going on about the claim of engraving to be a fine art, rules for the profession of engraver or if indeed it was a profession. The endpapers and blanks are modern, with an earlier bookplate from the New Haven Free Library preserved on the front pastedown. The only other indication that this was a library book is a faint stamp on the title page and two numbers written on the verso of the title page. A sheet of paper with notes in Bridson's hand laid-in. With the bookplate and pencil signature of Gavin Bridson.
