MY LIFE IN TWO WORLDS
by Leonard, Gladys Osborne

First Edition. Autobiography of former actress Gladys Osborne Leonard (1882 - 1968) who became the most prominent British medium of her day. Physicist Oliver Lodge (1851-1940), pioneer in wireless transmission, credited for many inventions including the spark plug and loudspeakers, consulted with Leonard following the 1915 death of one of his sons in the first World War. Lodge became convinced of Leonard's ability to help him communicate with his deceased son. Through the widely respected scientist's publicity of his experiences, Leonard became famous. Lodge continued to research psychic phenomenon and remained a dedicated believer in Spiritualism. The jacket of this copy shows modest wear and soiling, affecting primarily the edges and corners. A three-inch-long triangular portion of the front flap (below the blurb) has been cut away. The covers are bowed inward slightly. The penned signature of a former owner appears on the front pastedown. Between pages 144 & 145, there is a crack at the hinge (but the binding remains secure). Otherwise, this copy shows minimal wear and soiling.
